Some are designed for those anticipating and planning a trip to Ellis Island, some for teachers who want to explore video conferencing options like "Distance Learning Opportunities" or activities like the "Traveling Trunks" option, and some for those trying to develop their own programs through a variety of downloadable resources. • Resources For Teachers Planning a Field Trip to Ellis Island:

    • Self guided tours of the Immigration Museum at Ellis Island and its many exhibits.
    • The "Immigration Game Zone"---a curriculum-based educational program specifically designed for grades 4-8.(Maximum 48 students)
    • "Shore to Shore"--a curriculum-based educational program specifically designed for grades 4-6. (Maximum 40 students)
    • Viewings of the documentary film "Island of Hope, Island of Tears" proceeded by a 15-minute Ranger presentation.(Maximum 140 people)

  • Information about "A Distant Shore" ---an opportunity designed for students in grades 4 and 5 enables students and teachers to study and explore Ellis Island without leaving their school or classrooms through the use of video conferencing technology.
